Get Ready for 2014 Sydney Mardi Gras!


The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade is one of the world’s largest and best-loved LGBTQI celebrations, a chance for all of the colours of the kaleidoscope to come together, to commemorate, celebrate, and communicate the universal message of diversity, equality, and infinite love.

Join hundreds of thousands of spectators lining the route, as 10,000 people parade with pride along Oxford and Flinders Streets in an explosion of creative and political expression, a captivating extravaganza of lavish floats, satirical statements, spectacular costumes and show stopping moments.

Planning for the 2014 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras season is well under way! Start to plan your trip, book your annual leave and mark your diaries. Below are the major highlights you’ll be sure not to miss!

Fair Day – Sunday, 9 February

The biggest community event of the season takes over Sydney’s Victoria Park for a giant sun-scaped picnic, entertainment and rides for all ages

Harbour Party – Saturday, 22 February

Set in the lush Royal Botanic Gardens of Sydney’s iconic harbour, dance day into night to the sights and sounds of world-class DJ’s and performers

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras PARADE  – Saturday, 1 March

The Mardi Gras centrepiece and overall best loved Sydney event, a glittering procession of more than 9,000 people, outrageous floats, lavish costumes, stunning designs and dancing

Mardi Gras Party – Saturday, 1 March

Simply the largest gay and lesbian party in the Southern Hemisphere, immerse yourself in a rich choice of state-of-the-art venues with heart-pumping music and exclusive performances

The Laneway – Sunday, 2 March

Taking over two of Sydney’s hippest pubs and the connecting lane way, this official closing party hosts drop-in DJ’s, pop-up performances and star moments spread amongst 5 different party spaces.
